I have been using for automotive repair. Works well but you need to make sure to get the insert all the way in. I did an oil pan, and it leaked because I did not sink the insert in deep enough. I broke off a 6 mm bolt and had to drill it back out. It was doable but not fun. Fortunately, it came out fine and did not require a step up in size. I just re-tapped the hole and put in another. Pull out force is very high. I recommend a suitable gasket compound for oil pans, etc...;.
